Montana Supreme Court Chief Justice and attorney general candidates took the stage in Butte Friday.
The four candidates spent the morning fielding questions the State Bar of Montana at a forum at the Copper King Hotel.
As early as 7:30 a.m., Montana Supreme Court Chief Justice candidates Mike McGrath and Ron Waterman shared the stage with attorney general candidates Steve Bullock and Tim Fox.

Democrat Steve Bullock and Republican Tim Fox are finalists in a uniquely public job interview: Both want to be Montana’s next top lawyer, the attorney general.
Voters will make the final selection on Election Day. The IR State Bureau looked at each candidate’s legal resume, interviewed people who worked with them and asked each man to explain how his career sets him apart.

BILLINGS — Guns, sex, drugs and elder care took center stage Monday as state attorney general candidates Tim Fox and Steve Bullock made their cases to businessmen during a noon luncheon in Billings.
In a rare joint public appearance in Billings, the candidates to be Montana’s top lawyer called for improvements in the Department of Justice, though each cited different concerns. The two spoke to a crowd of roughly 100 people at a Billings Rotary event at Crowne Plaza.

A key state race in the November election is for the office of Montana Attorney General.
The current Attorney General, Mike McGrath, cannot run for another term, so Montana will have a new chief legal officer in January.
Republican Tim Fox and Democrat Steve Bullock made an appearance together in Billings on Monday at a forum held at the downtown Rotary Club.
Both candidates are Helena based attorneys and they staked out their position on key issues like stream access laws and going after sexual predators.
McGrath is now running for Chief Justice of the state Supreme Court and is facing Ron Waterman in November.
